Trip is limited to 10 participants
Join leader David Suddjian for a visit to Tucker Gulch -- a migrant hotspot in Golden with a history of rare birds and a good variety of migrant songbirds. Sometimes rare "eastern" warblers and other out of range species are present, and we might also see Lazuli Bunting, Warbling Vireo, Green-tailed Towhee, as well as flycatchers, sparrows, woodpeckers, Cooper's Hawk and more.
Plan for about two miles of walking on paved paths, mostly along gentle grades.
Meet at the Front Range Birding Co. Littleton store at 7:30 am to carpool and car caravan to Tucker Gulch. We will conclude by 10:30 am.
There is no restroom available at our birding location. For those who wish to meet at the birding spot, we will gather at the intersection of 1st Street and East Street at about 8:00 am.

Join Front Range Birding and Optics for our May bird walk to Meyer’s Gulch Trail at Walker Ranch Open Space! Meyer’s Gulch Trail (also known as Meyer’s Homestead Trail) is a fairly flat, out and back trail at the historic Walker Ranch. The trail is known for its wildflowers as much as its birds. Target birds will include sparrows such as Chipping, Lark, and Vesper, Western Bluebirds, and Violet-green Swallows.
We’ll meet at 8:00am at the Meyer’s Gulch parking lot at https://maps.app.goo.gl/5ipLWjuknYzv75Zr6. Depending on how birdy the morning is, we may be out until 11:00am or 12pm. Please dress for the weather as May can be unpredictable in Colorado and remember to wear sturdy shoes.

Marion is a landscape andresidential architectural designer, working in the Boulder area for over30 years. She developed her first rain river garden for her own property onSugarloaf, and continues designing for her clients, applying the sameprinciples to a variety of unique locations.
Thefocus of this presentation is to demonstrate how to use beautiful & logicalmethods to utilize available water. These gardens also provide a habitatfor local pollinators, by prioritizing native plants.
When we consider our homes, it’sinevitable that we relate to the property surrounding them. Marion believes that with our owngardens, we can create an example by illustrating transformative ways tosupport our local eco-systems.
